Jordan Makes Biggest Drugs Bust in Years at Saudi Border

AMMAN, June 5 (Reuters) – Jordan has foiled two plots to smuggle millions of Captagon pills through a border post to Saudi Arabia, the biggest seizure in years of drugs bound for lucrative Gulf markets from what Jordanian security officials say are Syria-based gangs with ties to Iran.

The haul was discovered hidden in a shipment of construction vehicles at the Omari crossing in Jordan’s eastern desert before it was due to enter Saudi Arabia, officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

Law enforcement authorities had for weeks tracked two separate operations bringing the consignment of drugs into Jordan across the northern border with Syria. Unlike in previous busts that were carried out as drugs entered Jordan, the authorities waited to make the seizure until the drugs transited through the country and were due to leave.

IAEA Board Passes Resolution Against Iran on Cooperation, Inspectors

VIENNA, June 5 (Reuters) – The U.N. nuclear watchdog’s 35-nation Board of Governors passed a resolution on Wednesday calling on Iran to step up cooperation with the watchdog and reverse its recent barring of inspectors despite concerns Tehran would respond with atomic escalation.

The resolution was passed by a vote of 20 in favour and two against with 12 abstentions, diplomats said. It follows up on the last resolution 18 months ago that ordered Iran to comply urgently with a years-long International Atomic Energy Agency investigation into uranium traces found at undeclared sites.

While the number of sites under investigation has been narrowed to two from three, Iran still has yet to give the IAEA satisfactory answers on how the traces got there.

Iran and its proxy militias have unprecedented influence in most areas under the “symbolic” regime control, as neither attacks by Israel and the International Coalition, nor the “cold war” with Russia could hinder the alarming entrenchment and expansion of these forces across Syria. Strengthening their presence and promoting their ideology, the Iranians are still carrying on with their systematic plan to change the demography of different areas throughout Syria’s geography.

In the following report, SOHR highlights the key developments in areas dominated by the Iranians in May 2024.

SOHR activists documented the death of 37 Iranian-backed militiamen in ground and aerial attacks across Syria in April 2024; they are as follows:

  • Ten non-Syrian militiamen were killed in Israeli strikes.
  • Seven Syrian militiamen were killed in Israeli strikes.
  • 12 Syrian militiaman cooperating with Hezbollah were assassinated.
  • Eight Syrian militiamen were killed by ISIS.

Iran’s Assets in The Struggle for Freedom

iran uprising 16022023

Over the decades, Iran’s people have paid a heavy price for freedom from the clutches of the evil regime of the mullahs. And although many brave people have laid their lives down for freedom, Iran lacks nothing to reach this final destiny.

The greatest asset of the Iranian people is the uprisings that have never ceased from June 20, 1981, to 1999, 2009, 2017, 2019, 2022, and now, and whose flames of demands have never been extinguished. These uprisings have gradually connected the demands of the initial pioneers and the subsequent ones, and now have matured into the demands of most of society. These uprisings are the principal common and national asset for rejecting any kind of dictatorship.

The evolution of the uprisings has clarified the positions and nature of forces with the criterion of their quality of demarcation from the rule of the current regime.

Inflation, Recession, Misery, And Corruption Under The Mullahs’ Regime In Iran

poverty in Iran protest

On the anniversary of the death of Iranian regime supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini, amid the unpredictable loss of former regime president Ebrahim Raisi, known as the “Executioner of 1988,” and faced with premature presidential elections, supreme leader Ali Khamenei spoke of a crisis for the mullahs’ reime that he had repeatedly denied or downplayed: intensified divisions and defections among supporters linked to his office. Despite granting enormous licenses to plunder the country’s resources to his supporters and showing no hesitation in giving even more privileges, the ruling mafia factions have no qualms about clawing at and wounding each other to seize the property of Iran’s oppressed people. The result is a disgrace for the religious fascism that Khamenei is trying to cover up. He says, “In the electoral competition between candidates, ethics must prevail. Badmouthing, slander, and mudslinging damage the national reputation.”

palestine gaza destruction

The Palestinian presidency sharply rebuked remarks made by Iran regime’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, on Monday. He also stated that the attack had drawn global attention to the Palestinian cause.
