Iran Election Suffers Major Boycott – Iranian Resistance Calls for Action Not Words for President-Elect Pezeshkian

Masoud Pezeshkian was elected in the Iranian presidential run-off with an historically low turnout, due to a boycott by the people of Iran. He is a self-declared reformer, but who has also declared the will of Supreme Ruler Khamenei is the law of the land. Only nine percent of eligible voters participated in the run-off election. The NCRI believes everything was set up for large-scale fraud and that is why the boycott was so successful.

Previously, the Iranian Resistance had declared that it would welcome it if Khamenei, even through millions of fraudulent votes, were to allow Pezeshkian to assume the presidency. This rift and crack pave the way for an uprising and break the bonds that hold the regime together, declared a statement issued by the National Council of Resistance in Iran, the government in exile of the MEK, a rebel force that declares it is fighting for a free Iran.

Iranian Opposition Group Says Supreme Leader Khamenei is the Big Loser of the Elections

Paris, July 6 (EFE).— The opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) stated this Saturday that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, is the “strategic loser” of the presidential elections held on Friday in the country, which they labeled as an “electoral farce,” and in which the reformist Masoud Pezeshkian emerged victorious. In a statement, the NCRI, which is headquartered in France, noted that they “look favorably” on Khamenei allowing Pezeshkian to assume the presidency, even if it is “with millions of fraudulent votes,” as his election could be a “crack” paving “the way for an uprising” and to “break the bonds that hold the regime together.”

“The system is hollowed out from within,” added the sources, “and the wolves are tearing each other apart.”

Maryam Rajavi: The Regime’s New President Neither Wants to Nor Can Take The Smallest Step Towards Change

The interim session of the National Council of Resistance of Iran coincided with the Iranian people’s resounding rejection of the mullahs’ dictatorship and their decisive vote for the clerical regime’s overthrow during the sham presidential elections, heralding the victory of a free Iran with a democratic republic.

One week ago, during the Free Iran 2024 World Summit, I declared that the sham elections were the outcome of the impasse and the major failures that plague the regime, because: The people of Iran have clearly declared, “Our vote is to overthrow the regime; there is no place for elections in this regime. It’s time for revolution!”

I said, “On the day Ebrahim Raisi, the henchman of the 1988 massacre, was killed, the outpouring of popular joy was the true expression of the Iranian people’s vote.”

Iran’s Regime Receives Another Massive Blow in Second Round of Sham Elections

On July 5, Iran’s regime held the second round of its sham presidential election after facing a decisive boycott by 88% the Iranian people in the first round, held on June 28. Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei was forced to admit to the widespread boycott of the first round of the farcical presidential election and tried again to use the regime’s non-existent “honor” to rally the regime’s base to vote in the runoff election. But again, the people of Iran turned the election into a referendum, voting “no” to the entire regime with a massive and unprecedented boycott.

The Social Headquarters of the Mojahedin in the country monitored 2,000 fixed polling stations, sampled based on recommendations from experts.

Unlike Masoud Pezeshkian’s Vows, Internet Censorship Won’t Ease in Iran

In a highly criticized and contested presidential election, Masoud Pezeshkian has been declared the winner, sparking significant concerns over internet censorship in Iran. This election, widely regarded as a sham, underscores the regime’s commitment to maintaining strict control over the flow of information and digital freedoms. During the televised campaign debates, Pezeshkian and other candidates openly supported the continuation and enhancement of internet restrictions. Pezeshkian himself justified internet shutdowns by claiming, “While we agree with internet restrictions like the rest of the world, we need to ensure that people can earn a living in this space.

Iran’s Regime Selects New President in Massively Boycotted

With the completion of the vote count for the majority of ballot boxes, Iran’s Ministry of Interior declared Massoud Pezeshkian as the winner of the 14th presidential election.

According to the Ministry of Interior, in the second round, Massoud Pezeshkian secured 16,384,157 votes, defeating Saeed Jalili to win the presidency for a four-year term. According to figures released by the Iranian regime, voter turnout was about 40% in the first round and 50% in the second round. However, there are serious doubts about the accuracy of these statistics. Many accuse the government of manipulating the results and inflating the number of votes, claiming that the actual turnout was much lower than reported.
