Iran Uprising at a Glance – Day 113

Based partially on reporting by PMOI (MEK) Network in Iran

Friday, January 6, 2022 – 8 PM GMT+1

  • Days: 113
  • Protests: 282 cities
  • Fatalities: 750+ estimated deaths, 614 identified by MEK
  • Detentions: 30,000

Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 113th day on Friday as the country’s brave Baluchis took to the streets yet again in further anti-regime protests against the mullahs’ rule. People in various cities of Sistan & Baluchestan protested against the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the regime’s crackdown machine, including the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), the paramilitary Basij units, State Security Forces (police), and plainclothes agents.

These continuous protests are a strong response to the regime’s latest campaign of crackdown measures against the Baluchis with an increasing number of arrests in recent days, especially in the city of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan & Baluchestan Province.

Locals in Zahedan,  took to the streets on Friday chanting slogans against the mullahs. Throngs of people rallied against the ruling autocracy and chanted slogans calling for the regime’s overthrow.

Brave Baluch women once again joined the protesters’ ranks in their continued demonstrations. Their slogans included: “Death to the oppressor! Be it the Shah or [Khamenei]!” “I will kill those who killed my brother!” and “Death to Khamenei! Damned be Khomeini!”

The demonstrators in Zahedan also held placards reading slogans against the regime while voicing their visions of a future Iran: “No to the crown [Shah]-No to the turban [mullahs]! The mullahs’ time is up!”
“Our silence is slavery! Resistance is life!” “No to monarchy! No to [the mullahs’ rule]! Democracy and equality,” they chanted.

Iranian opposition coalition NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi hailed the Baluch for their courageous protests today and once again emphasized their insistence to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and saying no to a monarchy rule.

“Despite the IRGC’s brutal attack and widespread arrests, our Baluch compatriots came to the streets of Zahedan today, showing their desire for the regime’s overthrow, democracy, and people’s sovereignty by chants of ‘No to monarchy! No to the mullahs’ supreme leader!’” the NCRI President-elect explained.

In Sanandaj, western Iran, protesters established roadblocks and took control of their streets.

In Javanrud, western Iran, regime authorities continued to impose martial law and dispatched many security units on the city streets. There are reports of Afghan Fatemiyoun proxy units also patrolling these areas.

The leaders of 10 political parties in parliament, including all four coalition partners, have urged the Dutch government to step up its support for the Iranian people who have been protesting against the regime since the death of Mahsa Amini last September. The Netherlands and the European Union must continue to support the freedom-loving Iranians and be their voice, the party leaders say in an open letter to the Volkskrant. ‘The Iranian regime violates universal human rights and its military activities also pose a threat to international security,’ the MPs say.

Iran People’s Determination to Overthrow the Regime – Day 112 of Revolution

Iran-Revolution-Day-112

Since the death of Mahsa Amini, thousands of people have taken to the streets in Iran. Unlike the protests in November 2019, when fuel prices skyrocketed, this time it’s not just about economic concerns, but also about political and social concerns.

Many Iranians no longer see a future and have nothing left to lose. The current protests also aim directly at the regime’s religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei, not President Ebrahim Raisi. In contrast to previous protests, the movement cuts through all social classes, regardless of age, gender, and social class – never before has there been such broad support.
