Germany Expels 2 Iranian Diplomats Over Death Sentence

BERLIN (AP) — Germany said Wednesday that it is expelling two Iranian diplomats over the death sentence imposed in Iran against one of its citizens.

Authorities in Iran announced Tuesday that Jamshid Sharmahd, a 67-year-old Iranian-German national and U.S. resident, was sentenced to death after being convicted of terrorist activities.

Iran claims Sharmahd is the leader of the armed wing of a group advocating the restoration of the monarchy that was overthrown in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, but his family says he was merely the spokesman for the opposition group and denies he was involved in any attacks.

Iran Uprising at a Glance – Day 160

Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 160th day on Wednesday while People in cities throughout Iran took to the streets in protest rallies as economic grievances escalate parallel to the country’s nosediving national currency. Many workers have not received their paychecks for months now while people from various sectors are demanding their long overdue pensions.

Locals in the Grand Bazaar area and the Aladdin shopping complex in Tehran took to the streets protesting the country’s deteriorating economy and the plummeting national currency.

People in a metro station in the capital Tehran began chanting anti-regime slogans on Wednesday morning, including “Khamenei is a disgrace!” specifically voicing their hatred of the mullahs’ dictator.

Homeowners in Tehran’s 21st district rallied outside the local municipal protesting the regime’s policies.

Landowners of the capital’s Punak district gathered outside the Presidential office on Wednesday demanding answers from authorities on why they are refused construction permits on their lands.

Retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Organization held a protest rally in Ahvaz, southwest Iran, on protesting low wages and pensions, insurance issues, and poor living conditions.

Storeowners in Arak, central Iran, were on strike today protesting poor economic conditions and the country’s national currency crisis.

Villagers living near the city of Kashan, central Iran, held a gathering protesting mining activities in their areas that are threatening their livelihood.

Retired teachers in the capital Tehran rallied outside the regime’s Education Ministry protesting their poor economic conditions. A similar protest rally by retired teachers was held in the city of Shiraz where the participants chanted various slogans, including: “Release jailed teachers!”

Locals in Tehran’s Narmak and Punak districts, and in the city of Kermanshah in western Iran, began chanting anti-regime slogans on Tuesday night till early hours of Wednesday , including “Death to the dictator!” specifically targeting the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Disabled citizens were rallying in Mashhad today, demanding pensions owed to them and they have been denied for months, some for years. The regime has been constantly deducting from their own state budget officially allocated to disabled individuals.

Truck drivers in the city of Nur in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran, were on strike yesterday for a second day, demanding answers to their outstanding grievances and protesting poor economic conditions.

And finally Brave young women across the country continued writing in graffiti: “Death to Khamenei!” “Death to the dictator!”

US Secretary of State Blinken Expresses Concern over Tehran’s 84% Uranium Enrichment

At a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken replied to a reporter’s question concerning reports that indicate the International Atomic Energy Agency has found nuclear material enriched to 84 percent in Iran and stated: “With regard to the reports of Iranian enrichment, yes, I’ve seen those reports.  We are in close contact with the IAEA, as well as with our partners – the E3 partners – in Europe.  We’re working to get more information, and when we do, I’ll have more to say.  But, of course, this would be a very serious matter.”


Rishi Sunak Urged To Act Against Iran-linked Cultural Groups

The UK government has been urged to launch an inquiry into groups posing as charities and cultural centres over their potential links to the Iranian regime.

Labour MPs have voiced concerns about the Iranian activity in the UK and the “stretch and power” of the regime in communities across Britain.

The charity watchdog has since last year been conducting an inquiry into the Islamic Centre of England’s possible connections to Tehran.

Like thousands of others, he was rounded up by security forces, caught up in a brutal crackdown against the protests ignited by the death in custody last September of 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman Mahsa Amini.

MEK Members Recount Horrible Torture by the Savak and Parviz Sabeti

In recent days, the remnants of Shah’s regime living abroad have been promoting and defending Parviz Sabeti, the notorious torturer of the SAVAK secret police, in rallies supporting protests inside Iran. Sabeti, who had primarily been in hiding after fleeing Iran before the overthrow of Shah’s regime, showed up at a rally in Los Angeles on February 11, marking the 44th anniversary of the 1979 revolution. Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah, who now proclaims to represent the regime’s opposition, was also present at that rally.

Cities Throughout Iran Witness New Protests Over Economic Woes

Iran’s nationwide uprising is witnessing its 159th day on Tuesday as people in different cities took to the streets yesterday protesting poor living conditions and other economic woes. Retirees and pensioners of the regime’s communications company led the protests while workers of different companies were also demanding delayed paychecks while complaining about poor working conditions during long hours of harsh labor.

People throughout the country are specifically holding the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei responsible for their miseries, while also condemning the oppressive Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary Basij units, alongside other security units that are on the ground suppressing the peaceful demonstrators.

Political Prisoner Nejat Anvar Hamidi Detained Since 2019 Without a Day Off

Political prisoner Nejat Anvar Hamidi has been incarcerated since March 2019 to serve her 15-year sentence in the Sepidar Prison of Ahvaz. She has not had any day off, even for medical leave.

Ms. Anvar Hamidi suffers from Thyroid malfunction, high blood pressure, blood lipid, and chronic headache. She also suffers from cataracts and experienced eye bleeding due to a lack of medical attention.

Sepidar Prison authorities deprived her of receiving her medications. On January 15, 2022, the prison’s doctor told her, “You don’t need any operation until you go blind!”

Iranian Women Want Their Freedom of Choice

Iranian women’s right to freedom of choice in choosing what to wear, clothing, and covering has been a contentious issue in Iran for many years. The mandatory Hijab was enforced by the mullahs’ regime after the 1979 Revolution, especially considering the recent uprising in Iran sparked by the death in custody of a young woman for flouting the mandatory dress code.

For thousands of years in Iran, women’s clothing and covering were a matter of personal choice, a social issue that was never deemed a privilege. Iranian women choose to wear the Hijab and cover their hair and body depending on their tendencies and the culture in which they were brought up.
