Qarchak is an Iranian prison for women located in Qarchak district, in the Varamin neighborhood of Tehran. VP of the Free Union of Iranian Workers Parvin Mohammadi to be jailed
The First Branch of the Unit Implementing the Verdicts at Evin Courthouse summoned Vice President of the Free Union of Iranian Workers Parvin Mohammadi on December 20, 2020.
The summon instructs Ms. Mohammadi to appear before the court within five days after the summon is posted on SANA website.
Vice President of the Free Union of Iranian Workers Parvin Mohammadi said she had been summoned for a case filed against her in 2017. She was unaware of the prosecution and the verdict had been issued in her absence.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Friday, December 25, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 475 cities had exceeded 191,600. The number of victims in Tehran is 47,056, Khorasan Razavi 13,085, Isfahan 11,450, Khuzestan 9,795, West Azerbaijan 7,188, Mazandaran 7,152, Gilan 6,816, Fars 5,862, Golestan 4,737, Hamedan 4,590, Kerman 4,144, Ardabil 2,347, Zanjan 2,000, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,369.

The end of December is the anniversary of the December 2017 uprising in Iran. The 2017–2018 Iranian protests refer to a series of public protests which occurred in various cities throughout Iran beginning on 28 December 2017 and continuing into 2018. The first protest took place in Mashhad, Iran’s second-largest city by population, initially focused on the economic policies of the country’s government; however, as protests spread throughout the country, their scope expanded to include political opposition to the theocratic regime of Iran and its longtime Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Catastrophic quality of food and drinking water in Great Tehran Penitentiary
Reports from the Great Tehran Penitentiary indicate that the food quality in that prison is catastrophic. Prisoners cannot even eat the food. Recently, the food usually does not contain any meat, but when it does, it has a bad color and odor. Prisoners in the GTP say it might be the meat of dead animals. The cooks put too much salt or pepper in the food to overcome the bad taste of meat.
At the same time, the amount of food is too little and inmates are always hungry. The amount of stew given to each prisoner is one or one and a half spoons.

A Revolutionary Court in Bandar Abbas (S Iran) has sentenced 8 Baha’is a total of 14 years in prison. Arash Rasekhi, Nassim Ghanavatian, Maral Rasti, Mahnaz Jan Nessar, Omid Afaghi, Mehrollah Afsahr, Adib Haq Pajouh, and Farhad Amri received a total of 14 years in prison. In addition, all eight were given a two-year ban on membership of social and political parties and groups and attending Bahai meetings.
