Iranians Rallied in Two Canadian Cities

Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance held rallies on Saturday, August 20, in Ottawa and Toronto to call out Tehran’s atrocities and express their support for regime change in their home country.

Protests in Iran Today

As on any other day in Iran, various cities and counties across the country witnessed protests from people of all walks of life who took to the streets and cried for their rights and blamed the state for deliberate negligence.

Today, veterans of the Iran-Iraq war who have been promised special treatment for years, organized a rally in front of the Tehran City Council and called out the regime’s major, Alireza Zakani for a response.

Iranians Rallied in Geneva, Aarhus, Gothenburg and Oslo

On Saturday, August 20, supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Geneva, Switzerland, held an exhibition to showcase the Iranian regime’s crimes during the 1988 massacre of political prisoners. Demonstrating images and textual revelations, the organizers also told the public about who the victims were and explained the cause they have sacrificed their lives for.

Also on Saturday, supporters of the Iranian resistance in Oslo, Norway, organized a rally against the clerical regime and in support of the organized resistance in their country.

In Aarhus, Denmark, supporters of the Iranian resistance held a rally on August 20, protesting against the Western appeasement policy vis-à-vis the clerical regime in Iran, while condemning the prisoner swap deal between Brussels and Tehran.

Greetings to all friends and fellow members of the National Council of Resistance present here and in other countries. And our warm greetings to all the dear sisters and brothers here and in other countries who have joined us as NCRI members or observers

To begin with, we honor the memory of Dr. Manouchehr Hezarkhani, the Chairman of the Culture and Arts Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). After 41 years, his seat in this assembly is empty, but his political and cultural legacy in the NCRI remains an inspiration to the generation that rose up to rebel and resist, overthrow the regime and win freedom.

Political prisoner Zohreh Sarv has contracted an infectious disease in Evin Prison and has been denied access to medical care and the right to treatment. Political prisoner Zohreh Sarv is an online activist who is detained in Evin Prison with a 5-year prison sentence.

A source informed about Zohreh Sarv‘s illness said, Ms. Sarv “has recently contracted a form of infectious disease and due to the spread of the disease in her body, she cannot even inject a third dose of the Coronavirus vaccine. If she is also infected with the Coronavirus, she will lose her life.”

Iran’s Judiciary Endangers Lives of COVID-19 Infected Political Prisoners by Deliberately Depriving Them of Treatment

With the re-emergence of COVID-19 in Iran, the number of prisoners suffering from this disease has also increased. Many political prisoners infected with COVID-19 are deprived of proper treatment.

The poor and unsanitary conditions of prisons, the lack of health and medical facilities, and the overpopulation of prisons have all helped in spreading the infectious disease.

In addition to this, no effective measures have been taken by prison officials to address this issue and they have yet to take preventive measures in the case of non-infected prisoners.
