Protest in Tehran- Valiasr Square, Chanting “Death to the Dictator” and “Iranians Die, but Will Not Accept Humiliation”
On Saturday afternoon, July 31, 2021, in solidarity with the Khuzestan uprising, a large crowd of the people of Tehran gathered and demonstrated in front of the City’s Theater in Tehran Valiasr Square, chanting, “Iranians die, but will not accept humiliation,” “From Khuzestan to Tehran, unity, unity,” “Compatriots, join us in support,” and “death to the dictator.”

Iran: Over 343,100 Deaths, Over 80,000 in Tehran Alone
Over 343,100 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, July 31. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 90,630, around a fourth of the actual figure.
The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 80,176 in Tehran, 23,230 in Isfahan, 21,801 in Khuzestan, 20,745 in Razavi Khorasan, 13,473 in East Azerbaijan, 13,290 in Mazandaran, 12,523 in West Azerbaijan, 11,707 in Fars, 11,081 in Gilan, 10,255 in Qom, 9963 in Alborz, 9735 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 8463 in Kerman, 8075 in Golestan, 7148 in Hamedan, 6953 in Markazi (Central), 5952 in Yazd, 5810 in Hormozgan, 4125 in Ardabil, 3151 in South Khorasan, 2775 in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari, and 2624 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

Iran Protests: Families of Murdered Demonstrators Hold Rally in Tehran
Family members of protesters killed by security forces held protest rallies in Tehran’s Azadi Square on Friday in support of the uprising of the people of Khuzestan and in condemnation of the Iranian regime’s brutality. The protesters, most of whom are mothers of the youth murdered by security forces down during the November 2019 protests, were chanting anti-regime slogans and encouraged others to join the protests.

Sanctioned IRGC Official Defends Internet Censorship Bill, Vows to Crack Down on Protesters
Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the Deputy Coordinator in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) defended the new internet censorship bill in a parliamentary session, telling MPs to not fear the protests on the internet against the bill. According to the state-run Entekhab website, the IRGC official told MPs to end “foreign rule” on Iran’s internet. “Isn’t independence our main principle? Until when will we be dependent on Colonists?” Naqdi said in the meeting.

On Monday, July 26, U.S. Representative Ted Deutch, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counterterrorism, along with eight other representatives introduced a resolution urging the European Union to fully designate Lebanese Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
