8 people sentenced to lashes in Iran
State-run media reported that eight people including one woman were sentenced to lashes by Iran’s Judiciary. ROKNA News Agency reported yesterday that a husband and wife in Mashhad northeastern Iran were sentenced to 74 lashes each in addition to prison by the Mashhad Criminal Court for theft.

Iran’s pensioners and retirees embark on 4th round of nationwide protests
Iran’s pensioners and retirees held their fourth round of nationwide protests on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in 22 cities around the country. They called for the boycott of the regime’s sham presidential elections. In Tehran, Iran’s pensioners and retirees including many women marched from the mullahs’ parliament to the Department of Budget, with chants of: “People join us, our pain is your pain.”

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 535 Cities Exceeds 252,100
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 535 cities across Iran had exceeded 252,100. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 57,651, Isfahan 16,485, Khorasan Razavi 16,190, Khuzestan 15,169, Mazandaran 10,705, Lorestan 10,648, East Azerbaijan 10,278, West Azerbaijan 9,473, Qom 8,885, Gilan 8,826, Fars 7,427, Golestan 6,475, Alborz 6,313, Sistan and Baluchestan 5,746, Hamedan 5,698, Kerman 5,629, Central Province 5,228, Kermanshah 5,034, Semnan 4,470, Yazd 4,512, Qazvin 2,879, Hormozgan 2,860, Zanjan 2,760, Ilam 2,596, and Bushehr 2,564.

Hearing for award-winning students called off, still held in the security ward
The court hearing scheduled to examine charges leveled against two elite and award-winning students detained in a security ward was called off.
Ali Younesi and Amir Hossein Moradi, students of Tehran’s Sharif University of Technology, were violently arrested last year in April and taken to Evin Prison. They have been detained since in the notorious Intelligence Ministry Ward 209, and for a considerable period in solitary confinement.
