Heavy Rainfall Causes Severe Flooding Across Multiple Provinces across Iran
Following intense rainfall in several provinces, communication routes to dozens of villages have been blocked, leading to flooding in some cities.
In Lorestan province, heavy precipitation has led to the closure of communication routes to 10 villages in Kuhdasht due to the heavy downpours. Similarly, severe rain has severed the usual communication route to Poldokhtar. As a result of the intense rainfall, electricity has been cut off in 39 villages in the county. In certain areas of Poldokhtar city, floods have penetrated into the homes of residents.
In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, rainfall has inflicted damages on the infrastructure of Basht County, resulting in the closure of routes to 15 villages in the county.
In North Khorasan province, floods have inundated some homes in the cities of Garmeh, Ivar, and Dargh.
The flooding has damaged electrical equipment in some villages of the Rudehen district in Damavand County, resulting in power outages in these areas.
Due to the overflow of rivers in Meybod County, Yazd province, the main route to villages in the district of Miankuh has been blocked.
Yesterday, a vehicle drowned in floods in Taft, Yazd province, and unfortunately, two individuals lost their lives.
Nearly 930,000 Iranian Students Drop Out in One Academic Year
The latest report from the Iranian regime’s statistics center, released on Tuesday, March 26, reveals concerning statistics about education in the country. According to the data analyzed by the Iranian Statistical Center, during the past academic year, a staggering 929,798 individuals across various educational levels dropped out of school. Among them, adolescents aged 15 to 17 accounted for the highest number of dropouts.
Experts have highlighted that Iran’s education system faces numerous challenges, including high dropout rates, school abandonment, declining academic standards, and more. Both international and domestic exam results also indicate a decline in the academic performance of Iranian students.
The regime’s parliamentary research center has acknowledged that poverty is a primary factor contributing to school dropout rates and children leaving education in Iran.

Iran’s Regime Faces Multitude of Crises in New Persian Year
In the wake of the recent sham elections in Iran, a series of developments have starkly highlighted the political and social landscape of the country. The election, marked by widespread boycotts and minimal participation, has left the ruling regime facing a legitimacy crisis. This situation raises pressing questions about the ability of the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, to navigate through this tumultuous period.
The electoral event was broadly ignored by the Iranian people, with only a small minority comprising regime loyalists, the Basij, the Revolutionary Guards, and other armed forces partaking. According to reports gathered by the network of PMOI activists inside Iran, turnout was no more than 8.2%. This act of widespread boycott underlines a significant disillusionment with the electoral process, perceived by many as a mere show rather than a genuine democratic exercise. Government publications themselves have acknowledged that the individuals who ostensibly represented the electorate in this process are, in fact, representatives of only a small fraction of society, further undermining the election’s credibility.
Iranian Political Prisoners Hold Their 9th Round Of Hunger Strike in Protest To Executions in Iran
Iranian political prisoners in Qezel Hesar Prison held their 9th round of hunger strikes in protest of the regime’s spate of executions on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
A number of political prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison as well as prisoners in wards 4, 6, and 8 joined the hunger strike as before. Political detainees in the prisons of Khorramabad, Mashhad, Saqqez, Naghadeh, Khoy, and the Central Prison of Karaj also went on hunger strike.
On Tuesday, January 30, several death-row prisoners in Qezel Hesar made an announcement: “In order to amplify our voices, we will commence a hunger strike every Tuesday. We have chosen Tuesdays because this day often marks the final moments for our fellow inmates, who are usually transferred to solitary confinement a few days prior.”
Iran’s Nuclear Folly: A Nation Bled Dry by Regime Obsession
The Iranian people are enduring a nightmarish economic crisis, a direct consequence of the regime’s blind pursuit of nuclear ambitions. While Iran boasts vast natural resources and ideal conditions for renewable energy, the regime has squandered billions on a program yielding no benefit to its citizens.
Instead, Iran’s nuclear program, touted as a path to progress, has become a two-decade anchor dragging down the nation’s economy and poisoning its relationship with the world. This self-inflicted wound triggered crippling sanctions by the United Nations Security Council, the European Union, the United States, and individual countries.
Iran’s Actual Inflation Rate Higher Than Official Stats
The state-run Donya-e-Eqtesad newspaper, in a report analyzing the “general sentiment” regarding inflation in 2023, has stated that households experienced much higher inflation in areas such as clothing, housing, food, and other sectors compared to the government’s official figures. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, although the average inflation rate over the past year was 40.7% compared to the previous year, the prices of red meat, chicken, and fish have surged by 86%.
Donya-e-Eqtesad further reports that food and beverage inflation was 52% last year, indicating a more severe increase in food costs compared to the general inflation rate in comparison to 2022.
Soran Abdi, A 22-Year-Old Border Porter, Lost His Life at The Baneh Border after Being Shot by Iranian Forces
On the early days of the Iranian New Year and the Norouz holiday, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, a young border porter named Soran Abdi was killed by direct gunfire from Iranian border forces while working as a porter at the Baneh border. Soran Abdi, a 22-year-old married resident of Baneh, was severely injured because of gunfire by security forces. Sadly, during the transfer to medical facilities, he succumbed to his injuries and lost his life. According to an informed source, Mr. Abdi’s wife is pregnant.
On the same day, March 24, 2024, a 16-year-old border porter named Milad Hosseini, from Divandarreh, was severely injured during his work as a porter at the border of Marivan. He was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.
