Iran Uprising at a Glance – Day 111

Based partially on reporting by PMOI (MEK) Network in Iran

Wednesday, January 4, 2022 – 8 PM GMT+1

  • Days: 111
  • Protests: 282 cities
  • Fatalities: 750+ estimated deaths, 614 identified by MEK
  • Detentions: 30,000

Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 111th day on Wednesday with protesters across the country continuing various protest measures against the mullahs’ rule. Brave locals in different cities throughout Iran have also been marking the third anniversary of the elimination of Qassem Soleimani, former head of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force, by burning billboards and posters of his image. This is parallel to the ongoing campaign of people voicing their hatred of the mullahs’ regime by torching images and anything symbolizing regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In a report that has shaken the regime’s security apparatus, Qassem Fattollahi, a ranking IRGC member in Tehran and commander of an IRGC paramilitary Basij base in the Iranian capital was gunned down outside of his home. Fattollahi suffered four gunshot wounds and most likely died at the scene, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, associated with the IRGC Quds Force.

In the capital, Tehran, a group of rebellious marched last night, chanting, “Death to Khamenei! Hail to Rajavi!” “We’re the MEK & we’re fighting the mullahs!” “We have written with our blood that we sacrifice our lives for the people!”

Also in Tehran and in broad daylight on the side of a busy highway in Tehran. a brave young man wrote slogans on a big banner of Qassem Soleimani.

In Zahedan, southeast Iran, reports indicated authorities arrested dozens of locals in the city’s Kowsar Street today.

In Ilam, western Iran, workers, and employees of the Ilam Petrochemical Company went on strike. They first held a gathering at the company’s plant and then moved their rally outside the local governor’s office.

In Javanrud, western Iran, in a desperate move, the regime’s authorities dispatched many security forces to the city’s judiciary building and installed security cameras in various areas.

In Semirom, central Iran, the regime’s authorities imposed martial law, according to local activists. Internet connections were heavily disrupted. Many people were arrested at night.

The courageous youths of Hashtgerd west of Tehran destroyed the statue of Qassem Soleimani by splashing red paint on it.

Resistance Units March on the Streets of Tehran

On December 3, a group of brave youth took to the streets of Tehran to initiate protests and encourage their fellow citizens to join them.

Despite the new wave of arrestments and albeit the high personal risk to be affiliated with the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization, this group of Resistance Units braved the regime’s crackdown apparatus and chanted through the night:

  • For poverty, corruption, and soaring prices, we march toward regime change
  • Death to the oppressor, whether the Shah or the leader
  • Our first and last call is regime change
  • We wrote with our own blood, we will die for this nation
  • We are the MEK and we are combatting the mullahs
  • Death to Khamenei, viva Rajavi

Iranians Respond to Regime’s Propaganda Machine

As a desperate regime, struggling with unprecedented defections and infighting, was trying to boost the morale of its tight follower base, and fake domestic support was supposed to turn the third anniversary of its slain IRGC Quds Force commander into a “national unity” week, the restive society proved its calculus wrong.

The brutal theocracy, masters of exploiting the ‘victimhood sentiment’ among the less educated masses, has run short of initiatives as the impoverished and oppressed nation is more aware than ever and as the Resistance Units have been risking their lives to lead the way and show how crackdown is to be defeated by sheer bravery.

The video below demonstrates how the regime’s efforts and long-thought preparations went in smoke in a matter of days if not hours.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Set To Be Labelled as Terrorist Group by UK

BBC Logo

The UK is preparing to formally declare that Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is a terrorist organisation.

The legal change would mean it becomes a criminal offence in the UK to belong to the group or support its activities.

Whitehall sources said no announcement was imminent and many details remained to be sorted out. But they said it was “broadly correct” to say the government intended to proscribe the IRGC. The proscription – first reported by the Daily Telegraph – would follow a similar decision made by the US in 2019.
