Protest Rally of Nurses and Healthcare Staff in More Than 20 Cities
Today, nurses and health workers staged rallies in dozens of cities around the country, protesting unfair contract terms and hard working conditions. Nurses and health staff of Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Asadabad, Poldakhtar, Tehran, Lasht-e Nasha, Rasht, Firoozabad, Rostam city, Kavar city, Rudsar, Ahvaz, Buchan, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Urmia, Poldokhtar, Sanandaj, Hamedan, Yasuj among other cities, jointed the nationwide effort.
More Protests in Iran on Saturday
On Saturday, workers of the Persian Gulf Holding Company in Tehran held a protest rally for the third consecutive day. These workers have not been paid for 4 months. The protesters vowed to continue their strike until their salaries are paid.
Workers of District 6 at Ahvaz Municipality staged a protest rally on Saturday. These workers have been on strike since Tuesday. According to one of the workers, they are protesting against the employers’ refusal to care about their demands for fair wages as well as insurance for the workers.
Yesterday, security forces raided the homes of a number of workers and threatened to punish them if they would not bring an end to their strike. In footage that has been posted by local sources, workers are gathering around an official to complain about the oppressive move.
Environment activists in Isfahan held a rally on Saturday, January 29, to protest the development of mines and the destruction of natural resources in the city of Alavijeh.

Teachers Strike Nationwide on Saturday
Today, as previously organized, teachers and educators across the country are striking.
Retired teachers have joined their employed peers in protest and calling on the Ministry of Education for fair payments in an increasingly dire economic situation where their small wages are no match to the skyrocketing prices and record-high inflation.
The nationwide sit-in is based on a pre-announced call from teachers and is scheduled to continue on Sunday, followed by large protest rallies across the country on Monday, January 31.
Reports and images have been posted from striking school teachers in the cities of Najafabad, Khomeini Shahr, Falavarjan, Qeshm Island, Hamedan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Bandar Anzali, Mashhad, Sanandaj, Isfahan, Lahijan, Karaj, Shahreza (Isfahan Province), Saqez, Yazd, Qazvin, Mamasani, Tehran, Mehriz, Bahmaei, Yazdanshahr, Kohgiluyeh, Divandere, Shushtar, Marivan, Khorramabad, Zanjan, and Yasuj.

For months, freedom-loving Iranians and family members of the victims of Iran’s summer 1988 massacre have been rallying in Stockholm, calling on the international community to hold the mullahs’ regime accountable for their human rights violations and crimes against humanity.
They have been traveling from across Europe to gather in the subzero temperatures to voice their demands as an Iranian regime henchman, Hamid Noury, has been on trial for his role in the mass killings of 1988 of over 30,000 political prisoners, mostly members and supporters of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The Grim Reality of the Coronavirus Pandemic in Iran
The number of COVID19 fatalities in Iran is inching close to a new milestone; 500,000 COVID-related deaths, according to non-government and reliable sources in Iran affiliated with the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). The emergence of Covid variants and the inability of Tehran’s corrupt and inhumane regime to provide necessary medical aid, hospitalization, and vaccination has raised alarms for the ordinary people in Iran and even among the regime’s authorities.
Iran Sets New Record in Number of Executions
Human rights issues loom large in the contemporary history of Iran. Under the reign of the late Shah, Iranians were deprived of fundamental rights and freedoms and suffered from pervasive violations of human rights, much at the hands of Shah’s notorious security forces and SAVAK.
The 1979 anti-monarchy revolution in Iran awakened hopes that a new era was dawning in which human rights and human dignity would be respected. As it turned out, the policies and the behavior of the new religious regime offered changes that were limited in style and rhetoric but were much worse than before. Once more, human rights, freedom, and justice were caged, this time by the ayatollahs.
