Australian NTEU Expresses Its Support for Iranian Teachers

The Secretary-General of the Australian National Tertiary Education Union, Matthew McGowan, wrote in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on February 25: “I am writing for you on behalf of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) which represents more than 28,000 academic, professional and general staff in universities. We are extremely concerned that the Iranian government has acted to repress teachers for simply exercising their basic human rights of freedom of speech and assembly. The National Tertiary Education Union unequivocally supports teachers’ protests and demands.”

Large Crowd Gathers to Protest Against Security Forces Killing of Innocent Man

Following the shooting and killing of an innocent local salesman in Baneh, Kermanshah Province, the people of Baneh rallied on Sunday to protest against this inhuman act.

State-run Newspaper Reveals Health Minister’s Lies About Fighting Covid-19

The state-run Mardomsalari newspaper wrote today: “While contracting numbers and the death toll from the Covid-19 virus and the Omicron variant is increasing, once again the Minister of Health is talking about Iran’s achievements in the fight during the pandemic and even mentioned Iran as the first country in the region and among the top ten countries in the world.”

The daily added: “According to the information received from the ICU sections, the number of Covid-19 patients admitted is so high that in some hospitals there is not even room for new patients… We’re dealing with a decreasing capacity of medical staff, shortage of nursing staff, increase in migration of nurses due to difficult conditions and low income, lack of medicine and beds and medical equipment in the country, coupled with increasing medical costs, especially for people with low-income. Yet again, the health minister keeps talking about the country’s abilities to fight the pandemic!”


U.N. Security Council to Vote on Houthi Arms Embargo

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council is due to vote Monday on a proposal by the United Arab Emirates to impose an arms embargo on Yemen’s Houthis after the group claimed several drones and missiles assaults on the country this year.

The measure would expand a targeted U.N. arms embargo on several Houthi leaders to the whole group. The measure needs nine votes in favor and no vetoes by Russia, the United States, Britain, France, or China.

Sunday Protests in Iran

Today, teachers from different provinces came to Tehran, Iran’s capital, and continued their protest in front of the regime’s parliament. The protestors are demanding job security, fair contract terms, and better payments.

On Sunday, retirees and social security pensioners from different cities across Iran staged rallies in front of their city’s social security office to protest insufficient wages, supplementary insurance problems, and poor living conditions. IRGC is Selling Iran’s Soil to Neighboring Countries – Sources

According to sources from inside Iran, the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards have started selling Iranian soil to neighboring Arab countries. Local sources say vessels have been filmed loading and exporting Iranian soil to the sheikhdoms in the south of the Persian Gulf. In the footage, a cargo ship called “Kowsar 5003” is shown loading and smuggling Iranian soil to the Persian Gulf countries at night.


Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Is More Than 513,600

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, February 26, 2022, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities was more than 513,600. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 120,405, Khorasan Razavi 41,185, Isfahan 35,690, Khuzestan 30,925, Fars 19,700, West Azerbaijan 19,333, East Azerbaijan 17,758, Gilan 17,705, Lorestan 16,805, Alborz 14,943, Kerman 13,952, Qom 13,740, Golestan 11,085, Kermanshah 9,639, Semnan 6,750, Ardabil 6,596, Qazvin 6,154, Bushehr 5,749, Ilam 4,893, and South Khorasan 4,591.
