Congress Considers First-Ever Sanctions on Top Iranian Terror Group

New legislation in Congress would sanction one of Iran’s top terror proxy groups operating in Iraq and responsible for deadly attacks that targeted American personnel stationed in Baghdad, according to a copy of the bill exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R., S.C.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is spearheading the new sanctions, which would designate for the first time the Iran-funded Badr Organization, a militant group operating in Iraq and tied to Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Badr group was commanded by former Iranian terror leader Qassem Soleimani, who President Donald Trump assassinated with a drone strike in January.

Residents of Sarbandar chant slogans against regime agents in downtown rally

On the evening of Thursday, December 3, a group of people from the city of Sarbandar in southern Khuzestan gathered in the city center to protest against the problems caused by the recent rains and chanted anti-government slogans. A member of the reactionary parliament who was about to speak to the protesters was forced to leave the scene after failing to quell people’s anger.

The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism (ADVT) was founded by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and filled with its agents to make up criminal allegations against the PMOI/MEK and prevent them from being removed from blacklists in Europe and the United States.

Assadollah Assadi, an Austria-based Iranian diplomat, and three other terrorists are on trial in Antwerp, Belgium, for plotting an attack in 2018 against the Iranian opposition’s annual Free Iran gathering in France.

Assadollah Assadi, and three other accomplices, a Belgian-Iranian couple, Amir Saadouni and Nasimeh Naami, and Mehrdad Arefani, were due to appear in the correctional court of Antwerp on Friday, November 27.

This is the first time in history an EU country has put an Iranian official on trial for terrorism.

Statistics on child marriages in Iran – According to the quarterly report of the National Statics Center of Iran (NSC), more than 7,000 girls under 14 years of age have got married in Iran from April to June 2020. The number published by the NCS on the number of young women married between 10 and 14 years of age was exactly 7323. Iran: Six men at imminent risk of having their fingers amputated following unfair trials and torture

Amnesty International: The Iranian authorities must immediately halt imminent plans to amputate the fingers of six men convicted of robbery following unfair trials and torture-tainted “confessions”, said Amnesty International in a detailed analysis released today.

The analysis reveals horrific figures, provided to the organization by a human rights group, Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, that over the past two decades, on average, the Iranian authorities have amputated the fingers of at least one person every two months and flogged at least two people every week.

Southwestern Iran suffers from lack of infrastructure against floods

Following heavy rains in eight Iranian provinces, there have been reports of severe damage in Khuzestan province southwestern Iran, to homes, public areas, and closure of routes in cities and villages.

The Minister of Energy’s Water and Wastewater Deputy, Ghasem Taghizadeh Khamesi said on December 1 that the recent flooding in Khuzestan’s provincial capital of Ahvaz is due to the lack of a surface water drainage system.
