Iran: Women Sell their Hair to Make ends Meet

Iran’s state-run Khorasan daily acknowledged on Wednesday that Iranian women and girl sell their hair to make their ends meet.

“A ten-year-old girl sold her hair to purchase a cellphone. A middle-aged woman sold her hair to pay for her husband’s medications, who is now invalid after falling from a building. Another 21-year-old customer sold her hair to pay the installments of her sisters’ dowry. And a teenage girl sold her hair to enroll at high school,” Khorasan daily wrote.

Maryam Rajavi: Teachers’ Protests Manifest General Determination of  Iran’s People to Overthrow the Regime

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s president-elect, hailed Iran’s protesting teachers. She underlined that the “teachers protests in Iran manifest the determination of the general Iranian public to overthrow the clerical regime that is the main cause of oppression, corruption, poverty, unemployment, and poverty.”

“I call on Iranian youths, particularly the high school and university students, to join their teachers in support. The first lesson of the freedom-loving teachers of Iran is to be free and courageous in the face of the mullahs’ oppression,” Mrs. Rajavi added.

 

Iranian Teachers Hold Nationwide Protests

Iranian teachers held a nationwide protest on December 23 across Iran. Iranian teachers demand their basic rights, but the Iranian regime refuses to pay them. The Iranian opposition, Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) has tallied reports and footages, through its network, from the teachers’ protest on Thursday.

US Navy Seizes 1,400 AK-47 assault rifles and 226,600 rounds of ammunition heading from Iran to Yemen

The US Navy has seized 1,400 AK-47 rifles and ammunition from a fishing boat it was smuggling weapons from Iran to Huthi rebels in Yemen.

US Naval Forces Central Command, or NAVCENT, said it boarded the boat on December 20 in the North Arabian Sea, seized the weapons cache and five crew members.

“US 5th Fleet ships seized approximately 1,400 AK-47 assault rifles and 226,600 rounds of ammunition from a stateless fishing vessel,“ a US navy statement Wednesday read.

“The stateless vessel was assessed to have originated in Iran and transited international waters along a route historically used to traffic weapons unlawfully to the Huthis in Yemen.”

“The direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer of weapons to the Huthis violates UN Security Council Resolutions and US sanctions,“ the US statement added.

The boat was sunk because it was a “hazard” for commercial shipping, the statement said.

Iran: MEK Supporters Continued their Protests in Sweden

On Wednesday, freedom-loving Iranians, supporters of the MEK, and family members of political prisoners killed by the Iranian regime held a rally outside a courthouse in Sweden where the trial of Hamid Noury is taking place. Noury is a former Iranian official involved in the 1988 massacre.

Political Prisoners in Urmia on Hunger Strike for More Than a Week—Iran News

Dozens of political prisoners in Urmia Central Prison have been on hunger strike for 10 days. The prisoners went on hunger strike after being transferred to a high-security ward The ward has been designed to torture and harass political prisoners.

Prison authorities have isolated the transferred inmates from other political prisoners. Urmia Central Prison is one of Iran’s most notorious prisons.

Prison authorities often torture prisoners and force them into false confessions. The NCRI has called on international human rights organizations to inspect Iran’s prisons The Iranian Resistance also called on the UN to condemn the ill-treatment of political prisoners in Iran

In Tehran, the death toll has reached 114,950, Khorasan Razavi 39,705, Isfahan 33,840, Khuzestan 29,710, Fars 18,495, Mazandaran 17,860, East Azerbaijan 16,933, Kerman 13,197, Yazd 8,103, Kurdistan 8,092, and Ardabil 6,210.
