Ali Khamenei appointed Ebrahim Raisi, the henchman of 1988 and the murderer of the People’s Mojahedin (PMOI/MEK), as president in circumstances where the chants of “death to the dictator,” “Death to Khamenei,” and “death to the principle of Velayat-e-Faqih” echo from Ahvaz to Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, and across Iran. This is Khamenei’s final bid to preserve the regime and signals the regime’s end.

Iran: Attending Raisi’s Inauguration – Green Light For Continuing Execution, Murder, And Terrorism
According to press reports, Enrique Mora, the Deputy High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, is scheduled to attend the inauguration of Ebrahim Raisi, the henchman of the 1988 massacre, on Thursday (August 5th). Legitimizing the presidency of someone with a long record of genocide and crimes against humanity is a mockery of democracy and the universal principles of human rights that underpin the emergence of the European Union and for which tens of millions died in Europe in the twentieth century.

Iranian Expatriates Hold Rallies, Condemn Regime’s President Ebrahim Raisi
The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, officially approved Ebrahim Raisi as the regime’s new president. Simultaneously, Iranian expatriates held several protests in dozen cities in Europe and the United States.
Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in London, United Kingdom, held a protest rally, urging the international community to prosecute Raisi for his role in the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners. They held a banner that read: “Raisi, guilty of the massacre of thousands of political prisoners must be prosecuted.” They also held signs which read: “Iranian people want regime change,” echoing the recent calls for regime change in Iran protests across the country.

Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities Overpass 346,400
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities is more than 346,400. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 81,056, Isfahan 23,440, Khuzestan 21,971, Khorasan Razavi 21,025, Mazandaran 13,420, Lorestan 13,030, West Azerbaijan 12,598, Fars 11,857, Alborz 10,103, Sistan and Baluchestan 9,955, Kerman 8,593, Golestan 8,175, , Hamedan 7,183, Yazd 6,032, Hormozgan 5,915, North Khorasan 4,759, Bushehr 3,924, Ilam 3,561, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 2,795, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 2,644.

Iranian Workers Demonstrate in Several Cities
The workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Company continued their strike on August 3, for the 22nd consecutive day, in front of the governor’s office in the city of Shush in the oil-rich province of Khuzestan, southwest Iran. After giving a speech, they marched in the city’s streets.
Challenges Facing the New President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi
Ebrahim Raisi, who was elected as the new president of Iran in a sham election boycotted by most Iranians two months ago, will take office today. He ran in the presidential elections four years ago but lost to Hassan Rouhani. This time, according to Khamenei’s request, all his possible rivals, such as Ali Larijani (former speaker of the parliament) and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (former 2 terms president), were disqualified by the Guardian Council and were not allowed to run in the elections.
Anti-Establishment Protests Intensified on the Eve of Ebrahim Raisi’s Presidency
On Thursday, August 5, Ebrahim Raisi is supposed to swear as the President of Iran and introduce his cabinet to the Parliament (Majlis). Raisi is known as the henchman of Tehran over his role in the massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988. Observers believe that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has selected Raisi and purged the Presidential race in favor of him to remove any objection easily. They particularly point to Khamenei’s decision to nip any social protests in the bud with Raisi.
