 Agricultural Product Waste in Iran

While the Iranian population is struggling with poverty and fresh fruit has become a luxury for many Iranian families, Masoud Lotfian, the regime’s deputy director of pest control in the Planting Organization acknowledged that 30 percent of agricultural products in Iran are wasted annually.

A report by his organization suggests: “According to estimates, agricultural waste and food waste in Iran is estimated at about 30% per year. This is about 3% of the total waste of agricultural production and food waste in the world.

Lotfian added: “Currently, an average of 100 million tons of agricultural products are produced annually in Iran, of which about 16 and a half million tons are removed from the consumption cycle as waste.” This amount of waste is equivalent to the product produced at the level of one million hectares, i.e. 12% of the area under cultivation of the country’s irrigated products. The coup’s implementors were the ayatollahs, particularly then-Parliament Speaker Abolghassem Kashani, and their thugs led by Shaban Bi-Mokh, or ‘brainless Shaban.’ “My sole offense was the nationalization of the oil industry and the cut-off of the exploiters’ hands from Iran,” Mossadegh said in a military court several months later.
