Human Rights record of Ebrahim Raisi, Eyewitness Accounts, Fereydoun Hamzeh Alipour

My name is Fereydoun Hamzeh Alipour. I was arrested in 1980 for distributing the MEK leaflets in Zanjan. During the arrest, my neck was broken by beating with the butt of a gun. After ten days in the Revolutionary Guards prison in Zanjan, on September 18, 1980, I was transferred to Azimieh in Karaj. After about a week to 10 days, I was taken to the Karaj Prosecutor’s Office.

I met a person in the prosecutor’s office, about 19 to 20 years old, whose name I did not know at the time. He sat down and started cursing and shouting, and saying that we will kill you all, we will not leave any sign of you, and you will regret your actions.
I was wondering what he was saying. He opened a file, a folder, and showed me the leaflet I was distributing.

The leaflet was related to Article 23 of the regime’s own Constitution. The section on “freedom of expression and opinion in the Islamic Republic” was boldened. Then I smiled at him, and he started cursing again that we would kill you. He insulted me and the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), its leadership.

He was a very rude man who only knew how to insult. Then I was sentenced to prison. The guards took me to Ghezel Hesar in Karaj. About four months later, I was taken back to the Karaj Prosecutor’s Office. This time the same person was in clerical clothes. I was surprised that this person had been dressed as a cleric just in four months.

I later found out that he was Ebrahim Raisi, who has now become the regime’s president. He started cursing me and used some very bad words to describe me or the MEK. Raisi is not only a criminal but also a perpetrator of genocide in Iran.

Because of his brutality from the very first year, he was one of the [Ruhollah] Khomeini’s desired persons. Therefore, he became the prosecutor and later the head of the regime’s judiciary. And now he is Khamenei’s desired person. That is why he was chosen and became the president. He has been a symbol of cruelty and crime.

Now think that the international community wants to establish a relationship with this person or accept him to the United Nations or any other assembly where he comes and gives a speech.

It is a disgrace to humanity that he addresses the world community and international podiums that belong to the people and their representatives.
This criminal should only be tried in an international court, and we will neither forget nor forgive his crime.
