UN resolution to condemn Hezbollah support for Syrian dictator

NCRI – The United Nations’ Human Rights Council is considering a resolution denouncing the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad for using Iranian regime backed Lebanese Hezbollah.

The draft resolution that was made public Tuesday in Geneva “strongly condemns the intervention of all foreign combatants in Syria, including those fighting on behalf of the regime and in particular Hezbollah” and expresses deep concern that their involvement would have a negative impact on the region.

It also calls on that the Syrian regime to give access to UN human rights investigators. The draft that is set to be voted on Friday has been presented by Qatar, Kuwait, Turkey, the United States and Britain.
