UAE steps up expulsions of Iranian residents – report

NCRI – The United Arab Emirates is intensifying expulsions of Iranians from that country the Iranian regime’s state-run INSA news agency has reported.

Many who have been UAE residents for up to 25 years are given just one month the leave, the agency said.

It wrote in a report this week: “The project to expel Iranians living in the UAE began in 2011 and hundreds have been expelled in the past two years.

“Those deported from UAE so far had no legal and criminal issues and the only reason for their expulsion was for being Shiites.

“In the past few months, the residency of dozens of Iranians living in UAE for the past 25 years was cancelled for no reason and they were expelled from this country.

“The Security Ministry of the Emirates calls a number of the Iranians and asks them to refer to the security bureau with their passport. Their passports were then taken and their residency cancelled. They were then given two weeks to one month time to pack and leave Emirates.

“Among the Iranians expelled from the UAE, more than 500 had been living in this country for more than 25 years.”

Figures published in 2008 revealed that more than 500,000 Iranians were living in the UAE, and about 400,000 Iranian companies worth an estimated 300 billion dollars were operating there.
