U.S. treasury official heads overseas to talk sanctions

Wall Street Journal – The U.S. Treasury Department said Monday it was sending a top sanctions official overseas to discuss, among other things, sanctions on Iran.

David Cohen, the Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, will head to Germany, the U.K., Turkey and Israel this week, Treasury said.

He’ll be discussing Treasury’s global engagement on illicit finance issues, including implementing existing sanctions against Iran, Treasury said.

Mr. Cohen has made similar trips around the world.
