• Young man beaten in Iran over so-called ‘improper veiling’ by his wife

On Tuesday, April 24, the Iranian regime’s traffic police in Bandar Anzali, northern Iran, beat a young man over so-called ‘improper veiling’ by his wife in public. The man was repeatedly punched and kicked by the suppressive forces.

• Protest opposite Iran regime’s Justice Department in Tehran

On Tuesday, April 24, swindled investors of the Padideh investment fund protested opposite the Iranian regime’s Justice Department in Tehran over the usurping of their investments by the state-affiliated fund. The protesters held a banner which read: “What did they do with Padideh? They turned it into the vulture of this era!”

• Swindled investors rally in Mashhad

On Tuesday, April 24, swindled investors of the Afzal Tous investment fund protested outside the organization’s offices in Mashhad, north-east Iran, holding a banner which read: “One less case of corruption would resolve our problem.”

• Iran regime hangs 9 prisoners in one day

Iran’s regime hanged nine prisoners on Monday, April 23, 2018.

Five prisoners were hanged collectively in the central prison of Urmia (Orumieh), north-west Iran, before dawn on Monday. They were accused of murder.

Three prisoners were similarly hanged in Kermanshah, western Iran, on the same day, while another prisoner was hanged in Ilam, western Iran.

• Five Killed or Missing After Flood in Koohrang

Apr. 23, 2018. After a flood in the city of Koohrang situated in Charmahal Bakhtiyari province, 3 people were killed and two are missing.

• California man sentenced in Iran jet parts smuggling scheme

A Southern California man who wanted to smuggle fighter jet parts to Iran has been sentenced to nearly 3 ½ years in federal prison.

City News Service says Zavik Zargarian of Glendale was sentenced Monday.

Authorities say Zargarian tried to buy aircraft parts used in F-18s and other jets from an undercover Homeland Security agent posing as a parts supplier.

Prosecutors say he and an Iranian citizen wanted to buy more than $3.5 million worth of parts.

• Over 10 Iranian Prisoners In Danger Of Imminent Execution

Over 10 prisoners were relocated at the Gohardasht prison in Karaj for imminent execution to-day.

According to news received from Iran over 10 prisoners were moved to solitary prisons today in or-der to be executed.

These prisoners include Javad Sohrabi, Amir Ahmadi, Amir Khalili, Sid Iman Hosseini Moghaddam, Ali Massoumi, Ahmad Sabet Mohammadi, Mohamadreza Kharratha, and Amrollah Azhdar. These prisoners are scheduled to be hanged on Wednesday April 24.

These executions are in continuation of suppression and execution spree in Iran.

• Truck Drivers Strike in Isfahan and Khuzestan Provinces in Iran

On Monday, April 23, 2018, truck drivers in Isfahan province and cities of Bandar-e Mahshahr and Bandar-e Khomeyni in the Khuzestan province of Iran, went on strike for a few days in protest of lower fares, lowering the tonnage of trucks and high expenses.
Protesting drivers have said in the course of these past days that despite the heavy work, due to the low fares and the high expenses, their economic situation is extremely severe.

• Hamidiyeh Municipality Workers in Khazestan, Iran Protest against 8 Months Wage Arrears

On Monday, April 23, a group of Hamidiyeh Municipality workers (located in Khuzestan province) stopped working and demanded their legal rights in protest against the non-payment of their eight month salaries.

The municipality workers began their protest on Sunday, April 22 and continued their gathering for the second day in a row on Monday. These protest assemblies were held during a sand storm, while it was difficult for any-one to breathe.

• Iran navy chief: US is not aware of our naval power

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy chief has warned the US against underestimating his country’s naval capabilities, according to the official FARS news agency (FNA).

Navy Chief–in-Command Rear-Admiral Ali Fadawi said on Sunday the US had little information about Tehran’s amphibious programme before suggesting that forces could be deployed in “free waters in the future”.

“The Americans have little information about Iran’s naval power and they understand our real power when ei-ther their vessels are sunken or entangled in a terrible situation,” Fadawi was quoted as saying by FNA.

• Notorious Iranian prosecutor to begin serving prison sentence

Former Tehran prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi, who was behind some of the most notorious prison deaths in Iran the last decade, was apprehended April 22 and transferred to Evin prison, where he will serve a two-year sen-tence for being an accessory to murder in 2009.

On April 12, a spokesman for Iran’s judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, when asked about Mortazavi’s longstanding case, said, “His verdict has been issued, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to find him.”
Mohseni-Ejei’s comments instantly went viral, with Iranians mockingly posting “Wanted” pictures of Mortazavi on social media.
