NCRI – Expressing concern over the increasing global and regional pressures in the state-run media shows that the Iranian regime’s isolation ring is stifling.

On March 6, 2017, Aftab News state-run site expressed concern over the new positions of the US and countries of the region against the regime and wrote: “Trump government has adopted an aggressive approach. He is seeking to create a united front with some Gulf States to confront us” to “deal with what he calls our interference in the Persian Gulf, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.”

Sahrq state-run newspaper on March 7, 2017, a week after the trip of Saudi Foreign Minister to Iraq, once again voiced concerns about the consequences of this trip, and wrote: “Political observers give great importance to this visit. It can be said that the ladder of Trump administration Middle East priorities has changed and Riyadh has received this message of change. Adel Al-Jubair recently said he was ready to deploy ground troops into Syria to fight not only with ISIS, but also to contain our expansion in the region. Adel Al-Jubair travel to Baghdad, especially in the current climate, cannot be interpreted as a natural event in the context of bilateral relations with Iraq.”

On March 7, 2017, the Iranian Diplomacy state-run site, in an article a week after the Turkish president’s visit to the Gulf States wrote: “Turkey’s president openly insults us in Bahrain. Turkish Foreign Minister accuses us of Shiite religious policy in the Munich Conference and we ignore …”

Another example that has caused disorder within the regime, was blocking of $1.6 billion of frozen assets of the regime by the order of the Luxembourg Court. Following this action, the state run search engine called Ghatreh on March 7, 2017 quoted a government official as an international affairs expert as saying: “Already, the expected in after the JCPOA era have not been realized. The success of some in confiscating assets, has left the hands of opponents of the JCPOA open to criticize the nuclear deal.” The government expert added: “Judgments like these, will risk our assets in Europe and even if it is not a clear violation of JCPOA, it is a violation of its spirit.”
