Tehran behind instability in Diyala, council of Iraqi tribes says

480,000 Iraqis in Diyala Province express their support for Ashraf NCRI- Tehran is behind the instability in Diyala province, the Council of National Tribes in Iraq said on Saturday, according to Iraqi daily Azzaman.

“The Secretariat of the Council of National Tribes in Iraq has blamed the Iranian regime’s embassy in Baghdad and its Intelligence Ministry for bombings, assassinations and armed attacks in Diyala province,” the daily said. Azzaman added, “The statement says that the Iranian regime is trying more than ever before to once again pay the price for its domestic and international crises out of the pocket of the Iraqi people.”

The statement goes on to ask, “Which moral or Islamic code allows the Iranian regime to preserve its rule by at the cost of shedding innocent blood, the misery of the poor, abandoned children and widows in our country?”

“We call on all provincial officials, tribal leaders, personalities and the honorable people of Diyala to not allow any factions to implement the Iranian regime’s designs which are meant to worsen the situation in the province.”
