Tajik government tries to limit relations with regime

NCRI – Despite the Iranian regime’s efforts to buy the support of neighbouring countries, the government of Tajikistan has sought to limit its ties to the regime, according to a state-run news agency on Wednesday.

The state-run news agency Tabnak accused the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon of having aggressive policies against the clerical regime, writing, “Obtained reports indicate that Emomali Rahmon seeks to limit his country’s relations with Iran fearing the influence of Islamists.”

Tabnak added, “The government of Tajikistan is also worried about the 1500 Tajik students studying in Iran and wants them to go back.”

Tabnak added that despite the Iranian regime’s attempts to establish better relations with Tajikistan, there are no prospects for cordial relations.

The Iranian regime’s silence in light of such behaviour will not be beneficial for the regime in the long run, Tabnak said.
