Senior Iranian cleric: We must hold the regime with claws and teeth

NCRI – A senior Iranian regime cleric has urged the country not to let the crippling political and economic crisis that threaten the existence of the regime.

Jafaar Shajouni said in a speech in the city of Kerman: “We cannot give up on the revolution and have our government undermined just for some water and bread.”

“We must hold on to this revolution with our claws and teeth and tolerate what is happening. All of us must mind our words and obey the Supreme Leader.”

He described the economic and political crises that regime is facing as a ‘test’, adding: “We are not worried about the sanctions and price increases.”

Shajouni whose speech was reported by state-run news agency on November 14, added: “Some [officials] who are deserters speak of being tired. Foreigners force us to be impatient, but we must display our resistance.”

And he warned about the erosion of Ali Khamenei’s authority and said that the lack of a Supreme Leader in other Muslim countries had caused a crisis and ‘mislead’ those who do not believe in the Velayat-e faqih.

Shajouni also emphasized that people must obey Iran’s clerics and said: “We cannot let go of the revolution and give away the foundations of government for fuel, water and bread. We must be careful of what we say. We must learn to obey the Supreme Leader.”
