S. Korea stops re-export of machinery tools to Iran through a Turkish company

NCRI – According to the state-run web site Asr-e Iran, director of the Korean company Hyundai said that Hyundai was recently informed of re-exporting of some of its products by a Turkish company to Iran and it stopped the process.

Lim Hung Su, Hyundai’s director said: We found that several pieces of our products including a ”  Horizontal filing unit vector which is a highly accurate measurement machine tool, is purchased in Turkey and made available to Iran. Fearing use of this equipment in the Iranian regime’s missile program, we stopped its transfer through the Turkish company.

The Hyundai official added: we have never directly exported our machinery tools to Iran.

According to this report, Wikileaks had recently published a U.S. State Department document dated 2009, that had shown that the Turkish company Ak Makina, imported sensitive and strategic machinery parts from the Korean Hyundai and made them available to Iran.
