Numbers of U.S. soldiers will remain in Iraq to deter Iranian regime’s intervention in Iraq and the region

NCRI – During a visit to the Ford Leona military base, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates gave news of the possibility of leaving 8 to 15 thousand American soldiers in Iraq after 2011, in order to prevent Iranian regime’s intervention in Iraqi’s internal affairs and the region, Al-Sharqia News TV reported on May 20th.

 

He said that the future presence of U.S. forces in Iraq will be a deterring factor for the Iranian regime to prevent it from interfering in Iraq’s internal affairs and to reassure American allies in the region, al-Sharqia News TV said.
