Middle East peace talks expose Iran’s fear of isolation

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei has said the only result of peace talks between Palestine and Israel be the ‘trampling of the rights of Palestinians’.

The comment exposes the regime’s fear of further regional isolation if the Middle East peace negotiations resume, observers believe.

Khamenei was speaking during the Eid al Fitr in Tehran on August 9, ahead of new talks on August 14 aimed at implementing UN resolutions for departure of Israel from occupied lands.

Last year, the Palestinian government was recognized as an observer member of United Nations.

Mullahs’ regime deems any progress in peace talks or reconciliation inside Palestine as processes that limit its interference in the Palestinian issue and consider them as against its plans to sustain and increase its regional interference.
