Iraq’s trade with Iranian regime not legal: US ambassador

James JefryNCRI – The American ambassador in Iraq has suggested that not all of Baghdad’s trade ‎relations with the Iranian regime are legal, according to al-Soumariya TV on Monday.‎

During a visit to Kirkuk, James Jeffrey was quoted as saying that the Iranian regime is ‎under international sanctions, which cast a shadow on Iraq’s trade ties with the regime as ‎well.‎

‎“There are restrictions on imports and exports to Iran, just as there are limitations on ‎financial dealings with it. We are confident that Iraq understands these restrictions,” Mr. ‎Jeffrey was quoted as saying.‎

According to al-Soumariya, the American ambassador also praised Iraq for signing ‎agreements with other regional countries.‎
