Iraqi politician calls for protest against Ahmadinejad’s visit

NCRI – Mr. Muhammad al-Daini, member of Iraqi National Assembly from the Iraqi National Dialogue Front called for protests against upcoming visit by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian regime’s president, the Al-Hurra Arabic-language American satellite TV channel reported on Friday.

Mr. Daini said that Iranian regime is responsible for murder of thousands of Iraqis by the Iranian backed armed militia groups in Iraq.  He called for the closure of Iranian regime’s diplomatic offices in Iraq.

On Friday, in Baghdad a group of Iraqis citizens protested against Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq. They distributed leaflets reading "Iraq is not for sale.”

The demonstrators called on the Multi-National Force-Iraq to prevent Ahmadinejad from visiting their country.

On Thursday a similar protest was held in northeastern city of Baquba.  “No, no to the Iranian regime,” read a banner carried by protesters.

They said Iranian regime and its president were meddling in the internal affairs of Iraq, supporting al-Qaeda, promoting religious hatred and inciting sectarian violence.

On Wednesday, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Shahwani, Iraq’s intelligence chief  in a statement announced that the Iranian secret service agents are working to "sabotage" the operations of groups fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq.
