Iraqi Kurdish official threatens Iranian regime with referring bombing case to UNSC

NCRI – An Iraqi Kurdish official has warned that if the Iranian regime refuses to stop shelling Kurdish areas in Iraq, the case will be referred to the UN Security Council and there will be a boycott against Iranian imports.

Bayzid Hassan, a member of parliament from the list of Change in Kurdistan, said, “The Iranian regime has renewed a bombing campaign against villages in Qandil mountains in Soleymaniya province. There have been ensuing fires in forests and mountainside farms.”

According to the daily al-Sabbah, the Iraqi parliamentarian said it is mindboggling how the Iranian regime can allow itself to bomb an Islamic country’s villages during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hassan added that the shelling of Kurdish regions by the Iranian regime defy international law and are considered an act of aggression.

The daily al-Sabbah added, “The Kurdish regional government has condemned the bombings and has officially called for an end to them.”
