NCRI – A regime expert revealed on Saturday that the theocracy has flooded billions of dollars worth of Iranian national wealth to Russia and China to entice the two countries to circumvent international sanctions.
Pirouz Mojtahedzadeh, who has been described as a professor and expert, said, “When Mr. [Ali Akbar Hashemi] Rafsanjani was president, he prescribed ‘looking to the East’ to compensate for the shortcomings emanating from faltering and antagonistic relations with the West.”
“In other words, the geopolitical attitude was that since we are now confronting a superpower we have to befriend the opposing superpower, and so dole out repeated concessions as a way to do this. These concessions were unnecessary and unforgivable,” he added.
His comments were published by the state-affiliated Khabar Online on Saturday.
“Even after our diplomacy discovered the ineffectiveness of these concessions,” he said, “it still continued this policy, bringing us to the current level where we are overwhelmingly boxed in.”
Mojtahedzadeh added, “The result was that Russia caused us the biggest national harm in terms of nuclear energy and building the Bushehr power plant. On the other hand, China, harmed us in economic terms.”
“We have created circumstances where our western competitors are maximizing on our weaknesses and are abandoning us without incurring any costs. The result of our diplomacy now is that no countries are doing any trades with us except China which is selling products to us four times the usual cost.”
