Iran: Suppressor of Baluch People Appointed as Commander of Tehran’s Security Forces

Brigadier-General-Hossein-Rahimi

NCRI – On Monday, August 7, 2017, the regime’s law enforcement spokesman announced the appointment of Brigadier General Hossein Rahimi as commander of greater Tehran’s Police Force. He has previously been the commander of the police in Sistan and Baluchistan province and has played a major role in repression and crimes against the Baluch people.

Hossein Rahimi is the successor to the Brigadier General of the Revolutionary Guards Hossein Sajedinia, who has been the commander of Tehran’s Police Force since March 2009.

According to the police spokesman, Sajedinia has been appointed as the deputy of the police operations.

In early 2011, the European Union accused Hossein Sajedinia, along with a number of Iranian regime officials, of widespread human rights violations in Iran, and imposed sanctions on the ban on entry into the European Union countries and the seizure of his assets in these countries. Sajedinia during the uprising of the year 2009 was among the main perpetrators of suppression of rebellions.
