Iran, State-Run Newspaper: Neither Nuclear Energy nor Economic Prosperity, Who Is Responsible?

NCRI – In its July-30 editorial titled ‘nuclear deal, mother of sanctions, and discredited assumptions’, a close to Khamenei ‘Vatan-e-Emrouz’ newspaper writes “in an unmatched consensus, US Democrats and Republicans passed the ‘Mother of Sanctions’ Bill, with 517 congress members voting in favor of the bill and only 5 voting against it.”

“This rare consensus among US lawmakers against Iran is contrary to three important prerequisites of the Geneva and Lausanne agreements as well as to the final outcome of the negotiations reflected in the 2015 nuclear deal. With the 12th government soon to take office, the Islamic Republic of Iran is doubtfully pondering the continuation of its current foreign policy”, adds the newspaper.

Vatan-e-Emrouz then raises the question ‘who’s responsible now?” saying “the most important question is who’s going to respond to the people, who today have neither nuclear energy nor the economic prosperity they were promised following the nuclear deal? With their banks in danger and their currency changed from ‘Rial’ to ten times higher ‘Toman’, which itself is of little value against the US Dollar!”
