Iran: Sandstorm in the southern province of causes serious breathing problem

Strong sandstorm hits southern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, causing a difficult condition for the residents.

Following the strong wind and polluted dust in the city of Hirmand and Zabol, all schools, banks and offices closed during those days and people faced serious difficulty in breathing. The storm had hit the city several times in the past days.

The amount of polluted dust had increased 20 times its normal condition. The wind speed rose to 50 and 80 kilometers per hour.

This was the third sandstorm since December 16 that had hit this province.

Simultaneously, air pollution had also caused schools in Tehran and Shahr-e Ray and other cities across the country including Orumiyeh, Tabriz and Arak to close down schools and offices on Wednesday, December 25.
