Iran Regime’s Speaker of the Assembly of Experts: Khamenei’s Fear Is Toppling of the Regime

NCRI – Ahmad Jannati, Speaker of the Iranian regime’s Assembly of Experts, said at a joint meeting of the Presidium and the Internal Commissions of this Assembly: The most important sensitivity of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic is “sedition” and the leader “has spoken more than a hundred times about sedition,” and therefore “it is our duty to think about sedition, to know the intrigue and seditionists, and see the seditious people are at which positions and where they are absorbed and how they are used in different positions.”

The term “sedition” in the literature of the Iranian regime leaders means popular uprising that is being used in Iran after the 2009 uprising.

Jannati then added: “Sedition means overthrowing, and the most important thing is the subversion of sedition, and overthrowing is not an issue to be raised at some point in time, and then let it go and look at other issues.”

In this way, Mullah Jannati implicitly admitted that Khamenei’s most important mental occupation and sensitivity is sedition or the overthrow of the regime.

“The enemy is thinking of overthrowing (the regime) and wants to start this overthrow from inside…,” Jannati added.

The Speaker of the regime’s Assembly of Experts mentioned another point in his remarks about the U.S. sanctions against the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), saying that the sanctions target is indirectly the leader of the Islamic Republic, since the IRGC is the leader’s arm and support.

He also called the Assembly of Experts the highest institution in comparison with the Parliament, the Judiciary, the Guardian Council, and the Expediency Council, and said: “The reason for this is the association of the Assembly of Experts with the heart of the system and the issue of Velayat-e faqih, and if that heart works properly, everything will work properly, but if there’s a problem here, everything will go wrong.”

Jannati then warned members of the Assembly of Experts and said, “We have to see what is happening and take care of the situation.”
