NCRI – The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a directive on Wednesday, May 11, dismissed Mohammad Sarafraz as head of the state broadcasting corporation IRIB and appointed Abdulali Ali-Asgari as his replacement.

Since February 23, 2015, Ali-Asgari has been an advisor to the Iranian regime’s fundamentalist Judiciary Chief Sadeq Larijani who has gained notoriety for a steep rise in human rights abuses in Iran under his watch.

During the Iran-Iraq war, Ali-Asgari was active in missile-related activities for the mullahs’ regime.

In 2013 the European Union adopted restrictive measures against Sarafraz and recognized him as being associated with violating human rights and working with the Iranian regime’s security services and prosecutors to broadcast forced confessions of detainees.
