Iran: Four arrested for assassination of Zabol official

NCRI – Four suspected fuel smugglers have been arrested for the assassination of a judiciary official in the Iranian city of Zabol, the regime’s Deputy Interior Minister Ali Abdollahi said on Tuesday.

The Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) had earlier described the men as the suspected assassins who murdered the prosecutor of Zabol city who were arrested following a ‘complicated’ intelligence operation.

The Deputy Head of the IRGC’s Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif later told the IRGC affiliated Fars News Agency that the assailants had no political affiliation and were ‘drug-traffickers’.

Zabol prosecutor Mousa Nouri and his driver were killed November 6 while they were travelling to his office.

At least16 political prisoners were hanged in the city of Zahedan (in the same Province) on October 26.

Zahedan prosecutor Mohammad Marzieh said the men who had already spent significant time in prison, were executed for the killing of 17 IRGC border guards in Saravan on October 25.

He told the Tasnim news agency: “These people were executed in response to martyrdom of border-soldiers in Saravan. They were affiliated with the Jaish al-Adl group, the Ansar and other wicked groups and this was just one response to that night’s incident.”
