Iran: ‘Deadly fire’ at military explosive material production unit kills two

A fire and explosion in an “explosive materials production unit” at a military facility near the Iranian capital Tehran on Sunday evening has left at least two people dead, Stat-run news agency ISNA reported.

ISNA quoting Defense Industry Organization, said: “Due to the incident, two workers of this production unit lost their lives,” without providing any details.

It is said that the explosion that occurred in east of Tehran could be heard from miles away.

The explosion occurred at 10:30 pm local time according to the state-run news outlets.

Parchin military complex is located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of Tehran.
