NCRI – A senior aide of the Iranian regime’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been arrested for ‘moral and financial crimes’ two months from the end of his term in office in June.

The arrest is the latest sign of the growing feud between the Supreme Leader and the president, who is frequently accused of sowing dissent against the regime.

Officials warn Ahmadinejad on an almost daily basis to curb his ‘seditious’ comments about the country’s rulers.

The state-run Baztab website has now written of the recent arrest: “This senior official has been accused of a number of moral and financial crimes. He is also being accused of blackmailing a woman film producer for 300 million rials.”

“There are some other unfortunate aspects of this case which cannot be published,” Baztab wrote on Wednesday.
