Iran: 90 per cent of Kerman population involved in legal action

NCRI – Nine out of ten people’s in Iran’s Kerman province are embroiled in legal disputes, a regime official has revealed.

Mohammad Sadeq Shojaie, deputy to judicial development of Kerman’s Prosecutor’s Department, said that in 2013 around 1.2 million people were involved in at least one legal action.

He told the Mahan News website that in additions to this, another 200,000 legal cases were being dealt with by the local council.

He added: “One of the most common sources of dispute is family matters which unfortunately have have ranked first and second over the last six years.”

According to official Iranian judicial figures, around 11 million legal cases take place every year in Iran, involving one in seven of the population.
