Donilon appointment sounds alarm bells for the regime

DonilonNCRI – The Iranian regime’s media outlets have voiced worries about the appointment of ‎Thomas Donilon as the new US national security advisor, saying that the move signals the ‎striking of a tougher note by Washington towards the clerical regime.‎

In a report this week, the state-run Raja News detailed Donilon’s background and added ‎that he “has more extremist views on Iran and considers Iran to be the biggest threat for ‎the US.”‎

It also said that in White House briefings, Mr. Donilon has supported more sanctions and ‎punitive steps against the Iranian regime, recommending a comprehensive diplomatic push ‎against Tehran.‎

Raja News added, “According to observers, the ascent of figures that view the Iranian ‎government as a serious threat signals the manifestation of a more anti-Iran attitude in ‎Obama’s policies.”‎
