NCRI – The Iranian regime’s media outlets have voiced worries about the appointment of Thomas Donilon as the new US national security advisor, saying that the move signals the striking of a tougher note by Washington towards the clerical regime.
In a report this week, the state-run Raja News detailed Donilon’s background and added that he “has more extremist views on Iran and considers Iran to be the biggest threat for the US.”
It also said that in White House briefings, Mr. Donilon has supported more sanctions and punitive steps against the Iranian regime, recommending a comprehensive diplomatic push against Tehran.
Raja News added, “According to observers, the ascent of figures that view the Iranian government as a serious threat signals the manifestation of a more anti-Iran attitude in Obama’s policies.”
