The Comoros Islands has summoned its ambassador from Tehran in protest to the Iranian regime’s escalation against Saudi Arabia, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Thursday.

In a statement, the Comoros Ministry of External Relations and Cooperation reiterated solidarity and friendship with Saudi Arabia and condemned in the strongest terms any interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom.

The statement also condemned the recent attacks on the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran.

Saudi Arabia severed ties with Iran’s regime last Sunday after crowds of protesters attacked two of its diplomatic posts in Iran.

Somalia, Sudan, Bahrain, and Djibouti joined Saudi Arabia in cutting ties to Iran’s regime. Other countries have downgraded their ties to the Iranian regime.
