British defense chief raises concerns over Iranian regime in UAE

NCRI – Britain’s Defense Secretary voiced concerned on Monday over the Iranian regime’s nuclear program while visiting the United Arab Emirates, according to UAE daily The National.

“The international community is not simply going to stand by and watch further nuclear proliferation,” Secretary Liam Fox was quoted as saying.

According to the paper, Mr. Fox described international sanctions as effective, saying they “have had a huge effect, and not just for the reason of economics alone. It has also sent a very strong message to Iran that it is increasingly isolated.”

“We are now, like it or not, interdependent, and the quicker our political and security structures understand that the better,” he said referring to relations with the Gulf states.

Whether Iran gets this message will determine its future, he added.

Mr. Fox was in UAE visiting British troops and the Gulf state’s officials in Dubai.
