Bahrain has halted all flights to and from Iran, one day after Manama said that it was breaking off ties with the Tehran regime, local media reported.

The Civil Aviation of Bahrain said that based on the announcement of the Kingdom of Bahrain on Monday that it severed diplomatic relations with Iran’s regime, the national carrier, Gulf Air, and the other carriers have been directed to halt all flights from and to Iran.

The Civil Aviation said that the national carrier would take all the necessary measures to ensure that passengers with booked flights are not affected.

Most Bahraini lawmakers on Tuesday morning pushed for a ban on trade, sea and air links with Iran’s regime.

The Iranian regime has faced an unprecedented wave of severing or downgrading of diplomatic relations with countries in the region in the past few days.
