Ahmadinejad sends agents to storm Iranian reigme’s Internet control center

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent security agents on Sunday to storm the Information Technology Research Center (ITRC) after five websites affiliated to his favorite candidate in upcoming sham election filtered.

Agents ordered the centre’s staff to leave, sealed the entrances and took control of the building, according to reports. Cyber Space Center was established on the order of Ali Khameneni by the Supreme Council of Cyber Space.

The action is the latest sign of mounting tensions between Ahmadinejad and Ali Khamenei.

The state-run Mehr news agency reported: “The former authorities of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) said that on the orders of Ahmadinejad, they intended to take back the center.”

Agents from the ICT Ministry then pulled down the outside signs on the building, the IRNA news agency reported.

The center’s director of public affairs Mohsen Moraveji told INRA on Sunday: “Since this morning, the ICT authorities entered the Center and opened every door in the building. They behaved rudely and ordered all current employees to leave and said new employees would replace them

“This center operates with the approval of the Supreme Council of Cyber Space, so how can our employees be prevented from working without any legal order?

“We are waiting for a judiciary order from a higher authority and we will not leave our workplace until we receive this order.”
