World writers association condemns suppression of journalists in Iran

NCRI – The worldwide association of writers released a detailed report this week decrying the deteriorating situation of journalists in Iran.

In its report, International PEN said the clerical regime is one of the few states that impose some of the worst restrictions on writers and journalists.

The report also mentioned a hunger strike by a number of prisoners of conscience protesting appalling conditions at the notorious Evin prison in Tehran in September.

It also says that owing to threats and intimidation by the regime, relatives of prisoners are banned from talking about the situation of their detained loved ones.
