NCRI – Unbearable torture and excruciating pressures led a prisoner in solitary confinement in section 1 of the Gohardasht Prison to commit suicide leading to his death, Human Rights and Democracy Activists website reported on June 23.
Nader Ramezani who had about 26 years, committed suicide on Thursday June 23 due to the atrocious tortures and unbearable conditions at the solitary cells of the section 1 of torture chamber of Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj; he died shortly thereafter, the website reported.
A few days earlier, prisoner Ramezani was transferred from the general section to the intelligence section of Gohardasht Prison where Farajinejad, the head of intelligence section of the prison and an infamous torturer, engaged in torturing Ramezani with electric batons for a very lengthy period. The torture was so severe that his body was bloodied with contusions and bruises all over, the Human Rights and Democracy Activists website said.
