UN human rights experts urge Iranian regime to stop targeting media

NCRI – UN human rights experts on Tuesday urged Iranian regime to stop targeting media and arresting journalists after a wave of detentions that it said was a “flagrant” violation of international law. “The recent wave of arrests of journalists is a flagrant violation of Iran’s obligations under international human rights law,” four UN experts said in a joint press release.

On the eve of sham presidential elections, suppression apparatus of mullahs’ regime arrested a number of journalist from media outlet mostly affiliated to the rival factions including Shargh, Arman, Bahar, Etemad dailies and ILNA news agency and Aseman weekly.
