Ten more hanged in a week under ‘moderate’ Rouhani

At least ten prisoners have been executed in Iran in the past week, bringing the total put to death under new ‘moderate’ president Hassan Rouhani to more than 400 since July, and 600 since January.

Among those hanged were a 44-year-old prisoner in the city of Rasht on December 14, who had already spent eight years in prison and been fined 150 million Tomans on drugs related charges.

Another prisoner was hanged in the city of Gachsaran on December 13 on drugs related charges, according to reports from inside Iran.
